I have always been inspired by Stained Glass, particularly of the C20th. A visit to the Stained Glass Museum in Ely resulted in my attending day courses in Stained Glass painting, and then I went on to study City and Guilds.

In the summer of 2005 I took part in the Cambridge 'Open Studios'. This was the start of a second career as a stained glass artist; my first was as a primary teacher.

I find myself stimulated by the wealth of techniques and materials and the fascinating way I can control light passing through the vibrant colours of the glass.
I am now making one-off panels and windows using traditional stained glass painting techniques, with lead, copper foil, sand-blasting and fusing. I enjoy the challenge of commissions and also love teaching and enjoy working with both children and adults in many venues including the Stained Glass Museum.
I have recently been involved in realizing several school windows in association with the Stained Glass Museum.
Interpreting structures from nature intrigues me. I have found that these wonderful patterns transfer beautifully into very intricate and exciting windows.
I also make fused panels and dishes with inclusions of copper, aluminium, silver, brass and other wires and metals which I layer up to make images of plants and animals.
